Family Friday: Turnbull

The couple in this battered photo are my paternal grandmother Letta Estella Porter (Warren Williams) and her third husband James Edward Turnbull*. According to what's printed in pencil on the back it was taken in Dallas on August 18, 1929.

*Letta Estella had really bad luck with men. Her first husband, my grandfather James Chappell Warren, Jr., died of complications from a ruptured appendix and William Leslie Williams, her second, died of injuries caused by an ice house explosion. Her marriage with Turnbull ended in divorce.
