My Grandfather George Hartley Jr Was a Pathologist in San Diego

Dr. Hartley (1907-1977), son of George Henry Hartley (1878-1949) and Minnie Nosler (1883-1969), probably circa 1940.

Part of his career in the 1950's entailed performing autopsies and autopsy report.  He is referred to as "coroner's chief pathologist and autopsy surgeon." in the article "Woman's Mystery Death Probed; Blow Indicated (San Diego Union, 20 Dec 1952, p 1, col 3; digital image, GenealogyBank (http://bit.ly/1NhGGmD*** : accessed 18 Jan 2016). He conducted an autopsy report on December 13, 1952, at the Coronado Mortuary for Coronado cafe owner Mrs. Margaret "Jerry" Olson.  His conclusion was her injuries, blood clots on the brain and severe bruises on the head, to be caused by "blow or a hard fall."  This was then used in the investigation of her death.

Maybe this is where I get my interest for Forensic Files and true crime.
