The Veterans History Project

Beginning in 2000 Folklife Center of the Library of Congress has been collecting, preserving and making accessible "the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war." The Veterans History Project is the largest oral history archive in the nation.
