Working on Wednesday: Start of New Basement - Encanto, 1951

Dad started work on the new living room addition by digging a full basement, hauling the dirt away with his 1948 Dodge truck.

    Wtf? Your father dug a basement under the existing house? Seriously?

    There was a basement under the existing house--Dad dug this basement to connect to that.
