Family Friday: Slater/Webb
Here's maternal grandparents Harry Allen Slater and Anna Delilah Webb picnicking (or something) in a meadow above the Colorado Chautauqua at Boulder with their dog Freddy the wire-haired terrier, probably in the 1930s.

That was great! I didn't know about the Colorado Chataqua, although I know about the movement and the famous one in New York. I don't think that's a wire hair terrier, and I don't think they are picnicking unless they are feasting on straw. I think they have harvested some plant and are planning to make it into something! Very interesting post.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about it either but there are several mentions of it in captions to Slater photos. I agree that my grandparents are mostly likely harvesting something. As to Freddy, the note for the photo says that's what he was...
