I was shocked when I recently found this slide taken in 1949 when I was 2-1/2. In my memories that banty rooster (named Billy Bones) was HUGE.
Billy hated me and attacked every opportunity that he got. Mother would pen him up but if Grandpa Currey, who lived next door, saw him in the cage he would let Billy out again because he felt sorry for the bird.
